It’s fun! Being a goose for a while is diverting and surprising, and embodying one in a simulated, pastoral environment speaks to the flexible power of games as a medium. For some reason, it turns out to be familiar to everyone, even city slickers who have never seen a goose in person. A recent, hugely popular video game, Untitled Goose Game, stages this conflict. If you are a person and one appears on your country estate, the advice recommends avoiding engagement and then standing your ground if it charges. They’re brusque, clumsy, and territorial.

Playing through again just doesn't seem to be in the cards for me because a lot of the puzzling involves a form of learning how the world works, and the game unfolds too linearly for a new game to hold anything interesting. Aside from this, I don't see myself playing this game again in the future (including the playing through fast challenges), though it would still be fun to watch others play. (Probably just a few spots might be too tedious for younger kids to complete on their own, and there's just a few places where you have to get the timing just right that might also be too annoying for younger kids.) There are several more post-game checklist challenges if you want to spend more time in this world (including basically 'do it faster'), and I'll probably work on those in spare moments here and there.
This would be fun to play with others kibbitzing, including with kids. It's better than Pan-Pan, but it's similarly small, similar in the repeated-small-puzzles playing style, and there's even a sort of similarity in the animation style. Goose fans will probably hate me for saying this, but this game reminded me a lot of Pan-Pan. Everything is well done, and the game runs smoothly there was only one time I hit a glitchy spot where characters were stuck and I had to move deliberately to get them unstuck. The huge appeal of this game is that you're a goose and you're a jerk, and it's funny. You have to poke around a wee bit with each new level to figure out what you have to work with to complete your checklist, but then for the most part it's clear what you have to do, and it's just a bit of try, try again to get it done. theres a new hurdle each time… The game does lose its charm so im happy with its length. all that really changes is the challenge of each level. Its so dumb but that’s what makes untitled goose so great… Its almost like a hitman style puzzle game where youre setting up to scratch off a goal until the areas final goal pops up for you to complete and move on… My only gripe with this game is how repetitive it is… Untitled Goose ends right when Im getting tired of it… The tasks at the end of the day are essentially the same in every level… the tasks are all different… but the goal is always the same, figure out a way to distract this person just long enough to grab the thing you need and try not to get it stolen back or swatted away. Untitled Goose’s initial campaign took my about 2 hours to clear, though after you do complete it you are given new tasks to complete across the 5 levels you just beat if you wish… And this game is just ridiculous… Stealing sandwiches, making neighbors fight, pulling chairs out from under old men.
And with these abilities you set out to complete a to do list. As a a goose you can grab thungs, run, peck, and honk.
